ARY News reports that several candidates, including PTI’s Barrister Gohar Ali Khan, filed nomination papers for the chairmanship in the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) intra-party elections.
According to the information, Naveed Anjum, Ashraf Qureshi, and Mohammad Aslam have also turned in their nomination papers for the position of chairman. The deadline for submitting nomination papers is February 25 at 3 p.m.
In the meantime, Yasmin Rashid sent in her application for the PTI Punjab chapter’s major post. Asad Hanif and Muhammad Khan Madani are also running for provincial party posts.
Sindh is chasing the panels of Khawand Bakhsh Ghulam Mohammad and Haleem Adil Sheikh. The panel, led by Ali Amin Gandapur, is running for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa party positions in the elections. However, the nomination papers from Balochistan have been filed by Dr. Munir Baloch and others.
The PTI has stated that its intra-party elections will take place on March 3, as per the scheduled date.
PTI’s Announcement
The PTI had declared that its internal elections would take place on March 3. The election calendar states that on February 23 and 24, nomination papers for intra-party elections may be turned in.
The party stated, “The election polling will take place on March 3.”
PTI’s leader opens up for Barrister Gohar as a new candidate for the upcoming intra-party elections on March 3.
Ali Zafar will run for chairman, and Umar Ayub will run for general secretary, according to Barrister Gohar.
He underlined that free and fair elections are essential to the expansion of the economy and noted that prompt court rulings are commonplace across the globe. He affirmed PTI’s resolve to proceed and be an engaged member of Parliament despite the legal issues.
There will be internal party elections held by the PTI on March 3. However, the PTI made a declaration, which describes the timeline for the election.
Party members can turn in nomination papers on February 23 and 24, per the schedule given by PTI. Nevertheless, the evaluation of these nomination papers is scheduled for February 25.
The calendar indicates that on March 3, polling for the PTI’s intra-party elections will take place in all four provincial secretariats and at the central office. However, the objective of this inclusive approach is to enable party members from all over Pakistan to exercise their democratic rights and take part in the electoral process.
In addition, the PTI has formally notified the electoral commission of its intention to conduct intra-party polls. Additionally, it filed its polling schedule with the ECP.
However, party leader Akbar S. Babar, who is unhappy, has decided to oppose the PTI’s intention to hold intra-party polls in front of the electoral commission. He asserted that the PTI’s current leadership had all been nullified.
