ISLAMABAD:
PTI Senior Vice President Sher Afzal Marwat called social media activists Adil Farooq Raja and Haider Raza Mehdi, who are both former army commanders with sizable YouTube followings, “wrong numbers” on Tuesday and distanced his party from them, according to Ptisupporter.
During a news conference, the PTI MNA-elect mentioned the YouTubers and claimed that certain “fugitives” were defaming Pakistan and her military.
Adil Raja did a lengthy live broadcast after the events of May 9, during which Imran Khan, the PTI founder, was arrested and military institutions came under attack. Imran Khan’s arrest and the attack on military institutions were reported by Adil Raja during his live broadcast. “Raja gives the impression of being PTI’s well-wisher,” he said, accusing Haider Mehdi and Adil Raja of being wrong numbers.
“Slogans of Pakistan,” Marawat said
Imran Khan told the story of shouting “Pakistan Army Zindabad” at a PTI convention, which he had done himself. “PTI is not against the Pakistan Army,” he declared, characterizing his group as “patriotic.”
Regretfully, Marwat said that after May 9, several political parties charged the PTI with being anti-state, claiming that these individuals did not spare any effort in disseminating false stories.

At a PTI convention, he claimed that he had shouted “Pakistan Army Zindabad,” stating it was the story Imran Khan, the PTI founder, had told. “PTI is not against the Pakistan Army,” he declared, characterizing his group as “patriotic.”
Regretfully, Marwat said that after May 9, several political parties charged the PTI with being anti-state, claiming that these individuals did not spare any effort in disseminating false stories.
He declared, “Adil Raja and Haider Mehdi are fugitives and court-martialed,” adding that they must deceive the PTI’s young members. He distanced his party from the YouTubers by saying, “They are defaming our party.”
However, Sher Afzal Marwat said, “We will continue our struggle by staying within the legal framework,” and he urged his party members and supporters to oppose them.
Military Media Wing
Adil Farooq Raja and Haider Raza Mehdi were sentenced to 14 and 12 years in prison by the military’s media wing for inciting sedition in November last year.
The Value of Swiftly Handling Allegations
The scandal serves as a reminder of how crucial it is for politicians to respond to accusations in a timely and open manner. Inaction on the part of an organization can result in a decline in public trust and harm to its brand, underscoring the importance of having strong crisis management plans.
Possible Consequences for PTI
The controversy’s resolution may have a big impact on PTI, both politically and socially. By showing openness in handling the matter, the party can strengthen its position. However, coming out as evasive or dishonest can weaken it.
The Media’s Part in the Debate
The media has added fuel to the debate about Raja and Mehdi’s alleged PTI affiliation. “Public Opinion Divided”
• Sensationalized reporting by some media outlets.
• Others cover accusations honestly.
Sedition Charges over Shaheen Sehbai and Adil Raja
The ISPR reports that Captain Mehdi received a 12-year rigorous punishment, while Major Raja received a 14-year rigorous punishment.
Military Sources:
• Individuals found guilty on October 7 & 9, 2023.
• The court adjudged through due judicial process.
On November 21, 2023, the awarded sentence will cause both officers to forfeit their ranks.
Because they are not located in Pakistan, neither Raja nor Mehdi completed their sentences.
In summary
In conclusion, the debate over Haider Mehdi and Adil Raja’s purported PTI links underscores the complexity of political discourse as well as the significance of openness and responsibility. However, the validity of the democratic process requires all parties involved to maintain honesty and truth in their discussions.
